Genealogy

I became interested in genealogy through the activities of my mother, and my father's parents, all genealogists for many years. History is filled with many facinating stories about somebody's ancestors experiences, as well as those whose descent has become extinct. I am fortunate that my family members have done much research, providing an opportunity for a truly Never Ending project of ancestral discovery. Pursuit of this project has been greatly facilitated by the explosion of the information age with the advent of electronic communications and data handling. Please visit my Genealogy page.

Electric Vehicles

I became interested in electric vehicles while working with Dennis Berube of Laveen, Arizona. My work duties included testing, diagnosis, repair, and refurbishing of electrical welding machines as well as engineering, design, construction and modification of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems of Dennis's NHRA World Record holding Electric Dragster, "Current Eliminator II."

This rail type dragster is powered by 15 to 20 Genesis automotive racing bateries, spinning a GE motor (manufactured for starting airplane jet engines) that drives the solid rear axle through a Harley-Davidson 4-speed tranny using a primary/secondary chain system.

The NHRA sanctioned world record for ANY electric vehicle is held by this car with an E.T. (elapsed time) of 11.43 seconds @ 109.7 mph in the 1/4 mile at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona (south of Phoenix). The car has crossed the 1/4 mile mark going as fast as 117 mph.

"Current Eliminator II" has been exhibited at numerous electric vehicle events in the southwest including the APS Electrics, an annual event held at Firebird Int., and sponsored by the Arizona Public Service utility company and others.

For nearly two years, I went racing with Dennis almost every friday or saturday night at Firebird Int. or Phoenix Raceway Park (northwest of Phoenix). Although I sometimes drove the car in the street for testing and adjustment, Dennis always drove the car at the track, beating many gasoline powered cars in the quarter mile. (Imagine the experience of having your gas powered car being beaten by an Electric). Of course there were some cars faster than us, but even they were impressed with our E.T.'s, wheelies, and tire screeching (the only sound heard) burnouts and launches.

See my Electrified Motor Sports page for more on

Alternative Medicine

(Many use the term "alternative" to distinguish techniques such as these from techniques used by the "Medical Establishment" in the treatment of illness and disease.)

Many of these techniques have been successfully used health care for hundreds of years, in contrast to so-called modern medicine which, although greatly aided by technological advances, is used mostly for sick care.

Acceptance of these techniques is increasing not only because of their success, but also because of the health care INSURANCE industry's recognition of their value in treatment and preventive maintenance which reduces the industry's cost of health care programs.

(Under Construction, to be continued)
