The Williams family were originally from England and Wales. Lewis, Isaac and John L. Williams were brick makers. The National Archives Civil War Records tell of Joseph Grubb Williams 3 years service, also 10 months in prison.
Above info (Except for parents of Daniel Webb Williams and Jemima Lewis) from family group sheet received 8 Jul 1997 from Yates Publishing's Family Group Sheet Exchange, as submitted 24 Jun 1983 by George B. Mauler, 2065 N. Highland Ave, Apt. G-131, Clearwater, FL 33515. (I found Daniel W. and Jemima, listed with only their marriage date and county, in Everton's Computerized Root Cellar, more than a year ago, also submitted by Mr. Mauler, but I have not been able to locate him.)
!Birth place from Gwen Muetzel. She sent me biographical information pertaining to the Williams, Lancaster, Frazier, and Dodd families; adding adding quite a number of descendants to this database. Daniel, Jemima, and family entered Fayette County through the Shenandoah Valley near Winchester about 1816, settling in Menallen Township. Daniel became a farmer and was a shoemaker by trade as he went from house to house repairing and making shoes. Daniel and family are found in the 1820 census of Fayette Co., PA: Males: 2(0-10), 1(10-16), 1(26-45) Females: 2(0-10), 1(10-16), 1(26-45)
